FAQ's
The D100 has a warm, full voice. The all-basswood body produces rich lows, a focused midrange, and balanced highs that blend together rather than compete. It fills a room without sounding harsh or bright. If you want a guitar that sounds round and even from the first strum, that is what basswood delivers.
Yes. The D100 was designed with new players in mind. The Comfort-Fit neck profile sits naturally in your hand, the satin finish keeps the neck feeling smooth during long practice sessions, and every guitar is inspected and set up by Mitchell guitar technicians before it ships. You are not getting a guitar that needs work before you can play it.
A dreadnought is a full-size acoustic guitar body, wide and deep, built to project sound clearly whether you are playing in a living room or on a small stage. It is the most common acoustic body shape and a natural starting point for most players. The D100's standard scale length and neck width make it comfortable for most adults. If you are buying for a younger player or someone who prefers a smaller guitar, Mitchell also makes a junior-sized acoustic worth looking at.
Both. The D100 handles strumming and fingerpicking equally well. The warm, balanced tone from the basswood body works across styles, and the neck width gives you comfortable string spacing for fingerpicking without making chord shapes feel awkward.
Yes. The D100 is built with the same internal bracing and construction principles Mitchell uses across its lineup. The forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing and 18:1 ratio tuners are not beginner compromises, they are real features that hold up as your playing develops. A lot of players find that the guitar they started on still has a place in their hands years later.
